Bill Hamann began his love of the sea, the Great Lakes, ships and sailboats of all kinds as a midshipman at the U.S. Merchant Marine Academy at Kings Point, New York. He has sailed the seven seas and all the Great Lakes by power and sail. The writing of several screenplays, stage dramas, musicals, short stories and his first novel have provided a never-ending life adventure that continues with each day at the keyboard. Bill is married to Cindy Jane, has two sons (Scott & Jason), and lives in Cincinnati, where he teaches law and theology, supply preaches at area churches, and is hard at work on his sequel to Red Sky in the Morning, titled ... you guessed it ... Red Sky at Night. For more information click the tab at the top.
The Writer's Block
I love the writing process not so much for those infrequent moments when my fingers fly across the computer keyboard but because of the more frequent "writer's blocks" that challenge me... to what?
That's the beauty of the block. I never quite know where it will lead me...or when. It is deep within those quiet moments (sometimes hours) of nothingness that my fondest characters, scenes, and dialogue have emerged. I love the block for the utter creativity that oozes forth onto a previously blank slate - no pretense - no agenda - no baggage - perfect creation!
I hope that as you read through the fiction and non-fiction books that will populate the pages of this website, you will be similarly exhiliarated by my words and messages.
I encourage you to write me an email with any questions or comments you may have about my books, characters, settings, or the writing process in general. Happy reading!
